1 Corinthians 15:13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith is also vain, moreover we are even found false witnesses of God, because we have witnessed against God that He raised Christ , whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised. Twenty eight year old Joe Firmage has had quite a life already. He has already made two huge fortunes working with computers in the California Silicon Valley. He recently quit the $2 billion company he helped found to advance, in his words, "the most important news event in 2000 years". This news may come as a surprise to those of you reading this. The news he intends to promote is that many of today's scientific advances have come from space aliens.

Mr. Firmage, if you are reading this, I have alarming news for you. The most important news event in the last 2000 years is something other than you think.

You may think that I am referring to the birth of Christ, but I am not! The birth of Christ was a great historical event and is shrouded in mysteries to anyone who considers it. How could God become man and yet remain God--two natures, one substance? Wow!! And among those who do consider His birth, it is something that fills every mind with awe. But the greatest event that has happened in the last 2000 years is not the birth of Christ.

You may think that I am referring to the death of Christ for the forgiveness of sins, but I am not! The death of Christ is another great historical event that blows the mind. But this is not the greatest event of the last 2000 years, or for that matter all of history.

The most important news event of the last 2000 years is the resurrection of Christ. The resurrection of Christ is the most important article of the Christian faith. Paul knew this and in the verses quoted above he makes it clear. Therefore we should have no standard of faith less than to place all our hope in the historical fact of Christ risen.

If you can give your life to advancing an important event don't follow the lead of Mr. Firmage. Rather give your life to promoting the resurrection of Christ. That is the most important news event of the last 2000 years. It is something that you can and should give up your life to advance.
