1998-07-18 - Everything
as if Unto the Lord
The Virtuous Woman Series, Part 9
Proverbs 31:18a - "She perceiveth that her merchandise
is good."
There are some stores that you just don't go into. There are some companies
whose labels you avoid. There are some restaurants you won't eat in. There
are countries that you won't buy from. Whether it's because the service is
bad, the building is unclean, or the merchandise is ill-prepared, you just
won't go there, eat there, or buy that.
The Proverbs 31 woman knows that if it isn't good, she shouldn't set it out
for sale. 1 Corinthians 10:31 is a way of life for her,
"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye
do, do all to the glory of God."
Colossians 3:17 & 23 show in her every action, "And
whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving
thanks to God and the Father by Him. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily,
as to the Lord, and not unto men."
She knows that everything that she does reflects her attitude toward God.
She knows also that her every move is a testimony to her love for God. Other
people see it in her. People know that they can depend on her because she
depends on Him.
Our Best
Hear ye the Master's call, "Give Me thy best!"
For be it great or small, That is His test.
Do then, the best you can Not for reward,
Not for the praise of man But for the Lord.
Every work for Jesus Will be blest.
But He asks from everyone His best.
Our talents may be few These may be small
But unto Him is due Our best, our all!
-SC Kirk, Grant Tuller
"My Dear God, help me to reflect You. Lord, forgive me when I do my less
than best. Lord sometimes I think about myself instead of having You be the
forefront of my thought. I know You love me, help me to love You with the
same intensity. Father, help my merchandise to be good. Thank You. Amen."
