[CF Devotionals] 2019-06-08 - Paying the Price

John 15:13 (NIV) – Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

Today marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day, which marked the invasion of Western Europe by the Allied Powers, which was with the goal of freeing France from their occupation by Germany, and which was the beginning of the end of World War II. The brave men from several nations stormed the beaches of France. These soldiers faced hostile fire, resulting in numerous casualties. Many men gave their lives. The died and were injured to ensure the freedom that you, I and others enjoy today.

Jesus came to Earth two thousand years ago, on a similar mission. He came to free us from our sins. To provide our spiritual freedom, Jesus paid the price by giving His life on the Cross. He died in our place, so that we could have freedom from our sins and to live eternally with God in Heaven.

Have you accepted Jesus’ sacrifice? Have you thanked Him for paying the price for your freedom?
