2019-02-24 - Exodus ~ Praise the Lord
Introduction: Have you ever found yourself in the wilderness? Do you think you’ll be there again? Within this chapter, that’s where Israel would find herself. And one of her struggles would be trusting God for the next step. Before we’re too critical of her, we should remember that frequently, when we’re in the wilderness, we forget what God has done for us. We fall into the trap of “But what have You done for me in the last five minutes?”
One strong counter measure we can take to help us, when we find ourselves struggling, is to follow the pattern established by Moses immediately after God’s defeat of Pharaoh’s army. We need to follow this pattern on a daily basis, that is a continuous pattern of praise.
"I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth” (Psalms 34:1)
I am continuing with the session we began last week, examining Moses' and Miriam’s songs of praise.
“Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation” (Psalms 42:5)
Exodus study to be continued.
