2018-12-17 - Why God? Why?
Why God? Why? I've asked these questions, multiple times, when something is hard or unjust. The Bible offers answers, not always encouraging, but invariably honest. The verses leave me still wondering why, though.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 says: Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (NLT)
Psalm 115:3 states: God is in Heaven, and "he does whatever pleases him." (NIV)
It makes sense that God's ways and thoughts are higher than ours, His creation's. (See Isaiah 55:8-9.) However, this fact does not cure my curiosity. I know God isn't upset that I want to know what makes Him tick. The Bible contains numerous questions posed by prophets and heroes alike. Even the Lord Jesus asked a few, during His time on Earth. We inquisitive types are in good company.
Lord, Help me to accept Your will, as I live this mortal life. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
