[CF Devotionals] 2018-11-28 - Perfect Timing

- - - - - - -

Very often, after Thanksgiving, things suddenly switch back to “business as usual,” and everyone is gone as I sort through the bins of Christmas decorations and get started on preparations for our next gathering. This year, however, there was a weather advisory Friday night through late Saturday morning. While the potential for some ice was there, we were fortunate to just have some cool rain and another day together. A bonus for me was another pair of hands, when setting up a manger scene, getting the synthetic evergreen set up, cords of radiant beams added, and the area vacuumed. Seemingly insignificant, perhaps, this unforeseen support was exactly what I needed, to boost my mood and ease my mind as we parted until the next assembly. So grateful for my loving family.

How wonderful to receive exactly what we require, at the perfect moment in time. It never ceases to amaze me, how my Father in Heaven takes care of my every need, whether I think it or speak it to him. And occasionally, it works through a weather front. I am blessed beyond measure, and so very grateful for his mercy and the hands he works through, to take care of everything - in his timing. God’s love endures forever.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:6-8 NIV)

“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit–fruit that will last–and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other.” (John 15:15-17 NIV)

“You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.” (Psalm 91:13-15 NIV)

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.  Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever.  Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever.” (Psalm 136:1-3 NIV)
