[CF Devotionals] 2018-11-15 - Once for All

Just as I Am ~ Part 3

- - - - - - -

1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

John 3:16-17 many people have heard. Then there is I am The Way - The Truth and The Life. All singular, and all specifically pointing to Jesus and the work He did from birth to going to the cross for each one of humankind. By living a sinless life and dying as the sacrificial Lamb on the cross shedding His blood for our atonement.

The verse from first Peter makes a powerful point. Once for all - a free gift for all who will come and accept Him as their Savior. Sin has been dealt with at the cross. Death was defeated at His resurrection. To any who will sincerely come when He calls, He will not turn away.

1 Timothy 2:1-4 First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, 2 for kings and all who are in [a]authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and [b]dignity. 3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the [c]knowledge of the truth.

I encourage you to go to the Old Testament and read Isaiah 55. This book was written centuries before Jesus came to Earth. This chapter describes the level of God's promise to us.
