[Calvary Chapel] 2018-11-01 - Seeking Peace

- - - - - - -

John 14:27 (NIV) Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

There are days and periods of time where we struggle individually, as a family, or as a group, etc. The world around is races and crushes in around us or leaves us feeling left alone. Trials, troubles, hope dims, light fades.

Here Jesus is ready to return to Heaven after His resurrection and victory over death and Hell. Because Jesus became the spotless, perfect sacrificial Lamb in our place, out sins have been paid for by his sinless blood. We have peace with God if we are willing to give our lives to Him.

Peace in this life is a challenge. But knowing Jesus as our Lord and Savior from sin gives us a sanctuary in which to rest. The world may still rage on, but there can be rest before going out putting on the armor of God every morning. More on that another time. But for now trust God in your trials and troubles to light your path as you move forward.

Lord Jesus, Thank You for the peace You make available to us. Teach us to go to You first. Call us close to You and keep us safe under Your wings in the storm. Thank You for Your mercy, grace and peace. Praise You for all that You do for us. Amen.

Grace & Peace,
