Hear Me Calling ~ Part 2

- - - - - - -

Revelation 13:8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain.
Many Christians are familiar with agape. It is a Greek word. It is one of five different words for what English lumps into love. We use the word love if a wide variety of ways. The word agape is specific. It refers to unconditional love. The love of God for humanity.

The plan was laid down in eternity past, before creation. God can see all of time from the beginning to the end. He knew we would fall. The Son knew he would be sent, but only the Father knew when. Jesus took on human flesh, lived knowing all of our struggles, reached out with the message from the Father of acceptance and hope. For all of that we hung Him on a crass. Love held Jesus there. It was His blood that paid the debt we could never pay. That opened the narrow way to Heaven for all who would come and follow Jesus.

This is agape - unconditional, unrelenting, passionate caring. After Adam and Eve sinned and fell in the garden, God could have restarted creation from scratch and started over. God gave Cain a second chance. Noah was not perfect, but God spared him and his family. So many examples of grace upon grace for humankind. A large part of our culture has turned their backs saying God is dead. His unrelenting call to come and follow the way made for us by Christ's sacrifice and resurrection. God's love has not diminished.

Jesus said to many, "Come follow me." His unrelenting love continues to this day and will until He comes again. Agape calls to everyone, Believe in Him, and follow follow Him. Accept His offer to save us from our frailty.

Come, follow me (Jesus). Selah!

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Grace & Peace,
