2018-08-08 - Perseverance and Mercy
As the summer ends, our son is winding down on his seasonal job, and preparing to dive into Graduate School work. He was not sure, upon completion of his bachelor’s degree, if he really wanted to go that route, but about a month of working full-time hours by selling and delivering parts to automotive vendors (and school loans looming over him soon) changed his mind. ☺ He enjoyed many aspects of the summer work, including knowledge helpful on several levels, the relationships with coworkers, as well as discounted parts for his car made the same year as his older sister's. However, most jobs he checked into and applied for in the marketing field had him a little short of being hired at entry level, without either a bit more experience and/or a master’s in the area. He will continue to work at the parts store on breaks from classes, until receiving that next degree, yet has his sights set on the next level of serving - and with perseverance and God’s mercy, he will rise to the challenges on the path set before him. He plans on completing a certificate program associated with the marketing graduate studies, five or six intense classes over two semesters minimum, as well as securing an internship in the field, as well, to add a little bit of "on the job" experience to his resume.
Are you reaching toward the next challenge, as God leads you through his plan? When things are exciting or stressful, do you remember the mercy He has given, and promises for the future? The good news is that God does not require a resume, but he does ask us to trust in him. When we do, the reward is priceless. ☺
