2018-07-09 - Eye Slime
And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. (Genesis 1:24-25 NIV)
Our new cats went to their checkup recently, where I asked about the cats' daily eye drainage. It was perfectly normal for this type of breed, and due to the shape of their facial features. I was relieved when I heard the veterinarian's words. Our cats get crusty or gel-like eye slime every day. Similar to a human's sleepies, the slime doesn't bother the cats, or stop them from enjoying feline naps or play. It only affects their appearance.
It's the same as someone being born with freckles, birthmarks, short fingers, or long eyelashes. It sets them apart, its one way God created everyone uniquely. The Lord made all of us humans in His own image. (see Genesis 1:27) We may wonder why He made us look a certain way or have a particular accent, but it's all according to His purpose. Not to harm or ridicule us, but to show God's glory to others. "Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand." (Isaiah 64:8 NIV)
Lord, Let my differences not become obstacles. Help me view life with a positive attitude. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
