Ephesians 2:1 And you [He made alive when you] were [spiritually] dead and separated from Him because of your transgressions and sins, (AMP)

There is a fairly new rendition of the classic hymn Because He Lives. The lyrics are different but they powerfully capture the heart and truth of the original version.

It boils down to the fact that we live because He lives. He crushed the power of sin and death so that we could live forever in Heaven with Him. One specific thought gripped my heart and mind. We all understand that we were dead, spiritually dead, in our trespasses and sin. Jesus' victory at Calvary raised our spirits to life. Here it is. Not unlike He raised Lazarus from the tomb, He raised us. The realization that He rolled MY stone away from my tomb in which my spirit lay dead. The message int he music added a new depth to the my understanding of grace and mercy wrapped in His inexplicable, undeniable power.

We were raised from death to new life with Christ by Christ's shed blood. He became the spotless sacrifice the law required - for us.

Jesus didn't die to destroy the power of sin and death just for those who will follow Him. The Lord died for everyone - for all of His creation that He loves. There are no restrictions on who is allowed to come and accept His offer. It is free to all who will come. If you have questions ask a friend, local pastor. If you can't find help with your questions ask us.

Lord - Please open hearts and minds, eyes and ears so they can hear Your irresistible call and trust You to free them from sin and free their lives to live following You. Amen.

Grace & Peace,
