pc-usa 2018-01-02 - Twelve Days

- - - - - - -

Some people only celebrate Christmas on December 24th and 25th, and immediately return to routine life on the 26th; some are under the impression that the Twelve Days of Christmas end on December 25th. In reality, that is only the beginning of the true historical Christmas season. The Twelfth Night of Christmas is on January 5th, the day before Epiphany Day, when we celebrate the Wise Men’s arrival to worship the Christ child. So if we want to be authentic to the history of the church and fully experience Christmas, we can celebrate until January 6th.

But if we truly want to be authentic to a life of being a Christ follower during the new year we are entering, we need to celebrate Christmas every day, 365 days per year: By being thankful for God sending a Redeemer for us, by helping others in Christ’s name, and by sharing our faith with others.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God
