2018-01-01 - Making Mistakes
As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. (Proverbs 103:12 ESV)
Its 9 AM and my heart is heavy, thinking about the list of demands awaiting me. The good news is, I laughed. Even though there were responsibilities looming, I gave out a hardy chuckle. Our new cats had found a way into the dishwasher! Thankfully, the dishes were not too messy. Without thinking, I left the appliance door open, and the cats saw it as a new passageway to explore. Moments later, I heard a crunching noise. When I went to investigate, one feline was sitting on top of a paper towel package. I accidentally left the pantry door open and voila, exploring cat on the loose.
I felt bad for a second, but didn't dwell on the facts that I was forgetful and gave the young cats opportunities for mischief. I made a mental note of remembering to shut doors, to calm the curious critters.
It's easy to blame ourselves when something not ideal happens. It's also good to laugh and remember "Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand." (Psalm 37:24 NKJV)
