Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

I have a footnote for you from my NAS I think is very interesting. The word translated "through" is literally "in". Now reread that statement. "I can do all things in Him who strengthens me."

In Him, in His vision and in His plan, I can do all things. Through His enabling I will be able to do the things He has prepared for me to do at the time He has decided. Peter stood up and delivered the sermon on the first Day of Pentecost. He and the other disciples did something they thought they could never do. Peter had denied knowing Christ three times the night before Jesus, his Lord, was crucified. The others with very few exceptions ran into hiding. Afterward, Peter was gently restored by the risen Lord. Over the next several weeks Jesus was with the disciples they were encouraged and prepared. This was the finishing work on three years traveling with the Messiah.

In the remaining time of their lives they shook the world.

So what does that have to do with us? In the same way, by our words and in our lives we can have the same impact. Sometimes we don't even see it coming. How many of us have prayed for a friend of family member for years that they would come to know Jesus as their Savior? Then one day it happens. You meet someone who needs a boost - encouragement, and the right words just come. There have been nights when I have sat down with no idea of what I was going to write, and it comes and He speaks.

In all of these things - a friend, a family member or maybe someone you have never met have been impacted by what you say or do. The smallest thing can be a miracle to someone struggling with depression, or illness. And you may just be spreading seeds that someone else will water, and another still will harvest. He will accomplish His purposes often through those who will be willing to meet the people cross their path at the point of their need.
