2016-08-22 - Unruffled
Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died – more than that, who was raised to life – is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. (Romans 8:33-34)
Why do we worry what people think? Is it vanity, being afraid to show our humanness, or fear of laughter and rude comments? It does not help matters, that the human brain has the capacity to replay hurtful, yet temporary events from our past. It is difficult to pretend people’s comments do not bother us, and it is hard to shrug off hurtful words or laughter. They can establish a belief, a mental picture in one’s mind that is hard to change.
When laughter starts, and feelings of embarrassment begin to bubble inside, we can have confidence not everyone is judging us. The most important One justifies us and has no charges against us. (Romans 8:33-34) It's not fun to be the reason for others' amusement or snickering. Jesus isn't like that. He never snickers. In fact, He accepts our flaws and loves us.
Lord, May Your love and dedication keep me happy and satisfied.
