[CF Devotionals] 2016-08-01 - Fishy Behavior

- - - - - - -

We have had pet fish for a few months. One fish named Christmas Tree, CT for short, was not looking too well, a few days after we brought him home. I couldn't encourage the guppy to eat. However, I did everything a fish owner can. I made sure the aquarium home was clean and the water temperature was correct. There's just so much control you have in a fish's life!

I prayed to the Lord, the unseen fish authority, on how to care for CT and his swimming friends. I felt better, knowing I had done all a human could. I wasn't the one in control of the situation. God doesn't keep us isolated or stranded. He gives advice when we need it. "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." James 1:5

Sadly, CT died two weeks later. My prayer was to trust God, knowing He was in charge, and God answered that prayer. I am still trusting and relying on God, as there are more guppy mouths to feed!

God wants us to succeed. May we make the right choices, and not let our brains mess up God's best today.
