2016-04-16 - Love?
Cultural Christianity has been a pervasive force for quite awhile. Like a buffet line, it
senses a need for God, but it picks and chooses parts of the Bible that "fits" or "suits"
ones image of God.
Even if the Bible has no authority to them, many will agree that the commandment, "Love your
neighbor" sounds good.
'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." Mark 12:21
With all the divisiveness today, it appears to me that many of us don't love ourselves.
"Cultural Christians" certainly don't appear to be loving their neighbor. So I can only
deduce they don't love themselves, either.
You can't have one without the other. Doing so creates a false God that is relative and
not absolute.
So perhaps we need to tap into a source of real Love in order to return the same.
Something to think about ….
