2016-03-07 - Nonstop Thinking
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1 NIV)
This verse is calming me down. It was the start of school, and you'd think I was the prospective student, the way my mind was thinking. It was working overtime.
My daughter was the one with new teachers, new classmates, and new rules to learn and follow. She will be surrounded by people with different beliefs, morals, and faiths. I wonder, is she equipped to handle that at such a young age? Have we prepared her enough? I don't want to bombard her young brain with thoughts or scenarios that may or may not occur. All I can do is pray the Holy Spirit will minister and guide my daughter, and in so doing, she will recognize that still, small voice.
She is oblivious to my concerns. My daughter is excited about school. She is looking forward to being older and in a new grade. I am grateful for her positive outlook, and vow to follow her example.
Lord, I pray these encouraging verses from Psalm 91 over me and my family. You're my refuge and my place of safety. Guard us. I trust in You, to keep us safe. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen. (verses 2-4)
