2016-01-20 - One Card Away
I was playing solitaire on my phone today, and it reminded me why I don’t usually play that game. I mostly switch to word games in various forms. Anyway, what else I noticed about the solitaire was you can play close to a dozen hands of cards and not catch a break, and then suddenly that next hand - with the movement of just the right card - suddenly you get the message “would you like to automatically finish,” due to the fact you’ve laid the foundation to put the whole deck back together. Up until the moment of victory, the frustration comes from knowing you are often just one card away from winning.
We’re also one moment of obedience away from being just where God wants us, too. He doesn’t move us like puppets, but have you ever noticed that when we follow the Spirit, that things seem to fall into place? He waits patiently, while we struggle and try to do the same things over and over. I am so grateful for God’s provision, patience and perfect plan, in spite of me.
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2)
