2015-07-27 - What Would David Say?
Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. (Psalm 32:1)
There are countless shells on most beaches. Some are broken, hard to pry open, and others are hidden underneath layers of sand. Then there are seashells found along the edges, far away from the shore.
I experienced such freedom, when I confessed my sin to God. Now I am forgiven and a blessed man. Before acknowledging my mistake, I had such a heavy burden, my energy and strength were zapped. I thought I was doing he correct thing by keeping silent, but I was wrong. I no longer carry guilt. May everyone praise God while they can.
God is our counselor, when we have to make a decision. He's a reliable guide. Don't be stubborn; you have to make the first move and talk to the Lord. There is nothing to be afraid of-He's waiting for you. The Lord does not have an ulterior motive, other than spending time with you, His beloved child. People disappoint us, but God can be trusted. We have a reason to rejoice and be glad, when we depend on the Lord!
Lord, David does not mince words. May I boldly and unashamedly turn to You, when I am in need, which seems every hour I am awake! I stand by Your encouraging words: "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." (v8a) In Jesus' name, Amen
