[CF Devotionals] 2015-01-21 - Curiosity

I was watching some birds around my friend's bird feeder, and while they reminded me of Dark-eyed Juncos, I knew they weren't. So I looked closely at their features, so later I could think about them while I looked in one of my birding books at home. Later the next day, I looked in that book, and still could not find the name of this type of bird, so I looked online. I put in various descriptions of specific features, attempting to locate the name of this particular bird. I still haven't found it, but I am not through trying. Things like that nag at me until I find the answer.

Ever have a question about God, or some kind of situation you're facing and want the answer? Our heavenly father wants us to seek him for answers, comfort, resolution to conflict - and so much more. He wants us to be as eager to know what he has planned for us, as whatever other everyday question might be nagging at us, until it's resolved. The good news is that he is the resolution to anything thrown at us. I find that of great comfort.

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

“For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;” (Ephesians 4:12-14)

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)

“Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.” (Psalm 119:77)

“And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.” (Mark 1:17)
