2014-04-26 - After Easter
Mark 16:15 "Jesus said to them, Go into all the world,
and preach the good news to all creation." (NIV)
After the women found Jesus' tomb empty on Easter morning, they ran to tell
His disciples the good news. Yet the disciples did not accept the miraculous
news. Mark tells us of "their stubborn refusal to believe
those who had seen Him after He had risen." (Mark 16:14) The Disciples
were skeptical. They knew that Jesus had died on the Cross. His Resurrections
seemed impossible to them. It took a visit from the risen Savior, to convince
them. Jesus then gave them their next assignment. They were to go preach
the good news around the world. These men did just as Jesus instructed them.
In fact, most of them gave their lives in foreign countries, spreading the
Gospel.
Today we, too, have an assignment from Jesus. We are to tell the Good News
to our families, friends and neighbors. We are to share the Gospel around
the world. Will you accept the assignment?
