2014-04-09 - Flitting Along
Have you ever watched a butterfly? They flit about, or move in what seems
to be an aimless manner, devoid of all sense of direction or purpose. Due
to the fact they were once in a cocoon, after being a caterpillar, then I
guess its entirely understandable that they might want to just take
off all over the place. How different that must be from being stuck on the
ground, eating leaves, and trying to avoid becoming someone elses meal.
After having wings to fly, their purpose becomes finding food - as well as
females to reproduce - for the entire life cycle to begin over again. Although
they have specific purpose, when you watch them, there seems to be none
whatsoever in their flight patterns.
I have days that I feel like there is no purpose to me being here. Its
often just the flesh talking, and I realize that, yet some days are tougher
to maneuver through it. I feel like the butterfly looks. Doing nothing but
flitting aimlessly through a day, with nothing to achieve. Fortunately, that
is not true, and I have Gods promises as a way of reminding me. The
same God, that knows how many hairs are on my head, has specific plans for
me while I am here. And what sometimes seems like a day of aimless meandering
is just another part of something bigger. We dont always understand
the different parts of the journey, yet when we ask to be in His will, and
request His help, then there is always clarity. Ultimately the bigger picture
will become clear, and thats what the focus should be.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither
are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
(Isaiah 55:8 KJV)
Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap;
which neither have storehouse nor barn, and God feedeth them: how much more
are ye better than the fowls? (Luke 12:24 KJV)
I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
So that we may boldly say The Lord is my Helper and I will not
fear what man shall do unto me. (Hebrews 13:5,6 KJV)
