2013-08-21 - What Would David
Say?
Psalm
32
"Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven,
whose sin is put out of sight! Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord
has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty!"
(Psalm 32:1-3 NLT)
It's not fun to have to face things I thought I dealt with, things I shouldn't
be dealing with, things that have no place in my present life. Some
disappointments and faults, even forgiven ones, were starting to resurface,
but I cannot let them take root. In order for me to be effective for God,
and to live a peaceful existence, the weight of the past has to be lifted.
I took comfort in God's forgiveness. And while God, in His sovereignty, can
certainly remember every detail of our lives, He doesn't remind us of our
past failings. I am so thankful to the Lord for providing grace, freedom,
and liberty from the baggage of wrong thoughts and past mistakes. Thankfully,
the Lord gives us permission to let go and live again.
Lord, I turn over a new leaf today. In Jesus' name I
pray, Amen.
