2013-07-15 - What Would Amos Say?
I will bring my exiled people of Israel back from distant lands, and they will rebuild their ruined cities and live in them again. They will plant vineyards and gardens; they will eat their crops and drink their wine. (Amos 9:11)
I was a shepherd and a fruit picker, when God called me to prophesy. In addition to watching the flock and gathering ripe fruit, my focus now was on obeying what God tells me to do.
It is extraordinary news what the Lord has revealed to me. He will rebuild the city of David, now in ruins, and return it to its former glory. The Lord will bring a season of restoration. Glory to God! How can people not praise Him for all He is going to do?
We must have faith that God will not abandon us or leave us to our own devices. People will no longer be in poverty, but will have their fortunes returned, and there will be an abundance of crops. No more dilemmas, just prosperity. The people will never have to worry about losing the land God gave them, for they will not be scattered again.
God is so loving and kindhearted. What sweet promises to cling to, if the people return to Him. They can have hope. What a wonderful time to look forward to. I can't wait.
Lord, I am free to imagine Your best for my life. That is what keeps me going. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
What makes the Lord loving and sincere in your life?
