2013-05-16 - The Earth Will
Mourn
Rev 1:7 Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every
eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth
will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen.
There are days in the future that we look forward to, but I'm not sure this
is one of them. We will be following Jesus Christ as he returns to Earth.
The people who remain on this planet on which we live will have kicked God
out of their lives and cultures. You have heard the rumblings of it - the
lies of the enemy. The claims that God is dead, or the need for mankind to
have a superior being to explain everything is past. If you hear a lie enough
times it can start to sound like the truth. If you hear that 2+2=5 day in
and day out does it change the fact that the answer is still four?
On this day the inhabitants of the Earth will know that they have been wrong.
Some may bow and beg forgiveness. There is no example of that in the text
but it may happen. There is no indication of anyone being pulled out just
before the battle at the last minute. The battle that follows will be fought
and directed by Jesus. Angels will pour bowls and seals will be broken open
that inflict war, famine, death and more. One seal those who have been martyred
for Christ will be consoled until the last few of their brothers and sisters
are killed for the cause of the Gospel of Christ.
We may watch and cheer, but we may also weep as the humanity fights a hopeless
battle in a final struggle. That struggle is as unavoidable as the outcome.
This should encourage us to live for Christ more every day. Be ready and
able to share our faith with someone when called to do so. We should be living
lives that bring people to us when they have a crisis in their lives. We
need to be building bridges and opening doors while it is still day. All
this to turn as many as possible away from this day.
Live for Jesus
I am singing for the deaf man
Who can hear about salvation in my song.
I am singing for the blind man
Who can see the light in me and come along.
Live for Jesus. That's what matters.
And when other houses crumble mine is strong.
Live for Jesus. That's what matters.
That you see the light in me and come along.
