2013-05-11 - Perseverance

"Because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." James 1:3-4 (NIV)

We are faced with many challenges every day. Our cars break down. Our computer gives us a blue screen. We get sick. We lose our job. A loved one dies. Each time we face one of these difficulties, our faith is tested. How will we handle the stress? How will we react? James tells us that the tests of our faith develop our perseverance. We learn to rely on God to help us get through the hard times in our lives. As we rely more and more on Him, our faith matures. We learn not to give up. We put our trust in Him.
