2013-04-22 - What Would Salome Say?

Mark 16:1-8

But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.(Mark 16:4)

Mary Magdalene, Mary, the mother of James, and I went to Jesus' tomb to anoint Him with spices. We noticed the large stone that was covering the entrance was gone. I was relieved, as the three of us wondered who would roll it away for us. The rock is so strong, that several men must have moved it to look at the body, or worse, my mind ran to the unimaginable, someone harming Jesus.

When we peered into the tomb, Jesus' body was not there, as I originally feared. What a disgrace. What sacrilege. Can't He even receive dignity in death? Where could Jesus be? Mary Magdalene, Mary, and I did not have to wonder for long.

A man appeared. He was wearing a shiny robe. We were terrified. Our eyes were dazed, as we never saw a man with bright, shimmering clothes before. The angelic, mysterious man asked why we were looking in the tomb, for someone who was alive. Jesus had come back to life again!

That morning, I never imagined I would have witnessed such a marvelous miracle.

Lord, Stop my brain from taking over. For me to be successful, I need You to be in charge, instead of me. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
