of rest and relaxation.
My Labor Day weekend was anything but restful. In fact I have to go back
to work to rest. A simple 5-minute job went wrong and minutes soon became
hours then days. When it was all said and done, I spent two days and a few
hundred dollars on the simple little maintenance task.
That got me thinking about labor and rest - you know stuff like that. I'm
glad that God also thinks about things like that and knows that we who work
really just want some rest.
Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and
are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon
you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find
rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is
light.
As tempting as it is to just go real deep into yokes, burdens, and labor
I'm just going to end my Labor Day weekend thankful to have a God who is
concerned for me and knows that I need rest. And God cares about you too.
