2008-09-26 - How Big Is It?

Some people think of salvation just as a personal go to heaven / get out of hell free card. Is that what you think? Or do you think there's more to it? In some places, Jesus refers to the gospel as a Kingdom gospel. That does not sound very personal does it? Jesus came to do more than save a person or two or even five billion. He came to establish a new community and a new creation.

Some people think of their salvation just as a transaction that moves their debts to Jesus' account. Jesus is just a very generous wealthy guy. Again, the truth of the whole gospel story reveals so much more. Jesus is a physician who heals us from the disease of sin and many other analogies fit.

Just something to think about today. Let your faith be large and let your God be even larger.
