2007-09-22 - The Prayers of
Christ
#11 ~ The Lord's Prayer, cont'd.
"For Yours is the kingdom, power and glory, forever and
ever, amen." As usual, I prayed for God's words before writing this
devotional. And what I believe came to me was to just let God's word sift
into people's hearts, with no commentary at all - just focusing on His glory.
Passages referring to God's glory are peppered throughout His word.
Revelation 1:6b To him be glory and power forever and
ever!
Psalm 8:1 O Lord, our Lord how majestic is Your name in
all the Earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens.
Exodus 15:11 Who among the gods is like you, O Lord? Who
is like you-majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?
Exekiel 10:4 Then the glory of the Lord rose from above
the cherubim and moved to the threshold of the temple. The cloud filled the
temple, and the court was full of the radiance of the glory of the Lord.
John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made His dwelling
among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came
from the Father, full of grace and truth.
And our response:
Psalm 34:3 Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt God
together.
Psalm 69:30 I will praise God's name in song and glorify
Him with thanksgiving.
Romans 15:6b....Glorify the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ.
Philippians 2:9-11 Therefore God exalted Him (Christ)
to the highest place And gave him the name that is above every name, That
at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, In Heaven and on Earth and under
the Earth, And every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, To the glory
of God the Father.
"And let the church say amen!"
