2007-02-07 - Hope

Note: Over the next few weeks I hope to be able to discuss a problem, no, a plague on our society that affects men and women young and old. I will try to write in a sensitive manner but due to the subject matter I felt it necessary to warn all of you that I will be discussing sexual matters like adultery and pornography. If you do not want your children to read these devotionals I understand. But - talk to your children because the world will talk to them too.

Even though the world is full of sexual imagery and innuendos, you do not have to be trapped by it. There is hope. There is an escape.

1 Corinthians 10:13b - [God] will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

If you want deliverance, the Deliverer is coming. Come quickly to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; O LORD, do not delay. (Psalm 70:5b NIV) If you want redemption then I have good news because I know my Redeemer lives. (Job 19:25) He lives and he cares. He loves you and he wants you to be free of the chains that can hold us down.

If you struggle with sexual temptations today, cry out to Jesus. Ask him to help you see the way out. He is the light. He is the way.

Let's seek him together.
