God's Promises, Part 1

Being a follower of Jesus Christ is not always easy. It often means you act differently from others -- and you may even stand out. Nevertheless, knowing Jesus has its rewards.

You are perfect.

O God, you have declared me perfect in your eyes; you have always cared for me in my distress. Now hear me as I call again. Have mercy on me. Hear my prayer. Psalm 4:1 (TLB)

You have hope.

But Lord, you are my shield, my glory, and my only hope. You alone can lift my head, now bowed in shame. Psalm 3:3 (TLB)

You are protected and loved.

For you bless the godly man, O Lord; you protect him with your shield of Love. Psalm 5:12 (TLB)

You are listened to.

Oh, listen to my prayer. Psalm 54:2 (TLB)

God, Me? Perfect? Today I feel so far from being perfect. I want to see myself as You do, so please show me how I look in Your eyes. Remind me that You are there to protect and guide me, and that I don¢t have to do anything alone. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
