2004-04-24 - Time Sequence
The Jesus the Carpenter - His Address Series, Part 8
Hello Friends,
Hope you are all well, I am finally over my cold praise God!, thanks for your prayers.
We have listed many signifigant prophecies concerning the birth of Christ. Today we will see prophecies that show a time sequence.
God gives several time sequences that prophesy the identity of Christ.
Prophecy: The Messiah will come while the Temple is still standing in Jerusalem:
Malachi 3:1, NIV (Time Period 440-430 B.C.)Malachi (3:1) "Behold, I send my messenger. And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord whom you seek, Will suddenly come to his temple, even the Messenger of the covenant in whom you delight. Behold, He is coming," says the Lord of hosts."
Prophecy: The Lord is cut off, and the temple destroyed: Daniel 9:26, NIV (Time Period 537 B.C)
It's important to note that the Temple was destroyed in 70 AD, and for close to 2000 years, it has not been rebuilt. In fact, the only part remaining is the Wailing Wall. Look at this prophecy.
Daniel (9:26) "And after the sixty-two 'sevens,' the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. The People of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed.
Fulfillment: Mark 15:37-39, NIV (Time Period 33 A.D.)
Mark (15:37) With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last. 38 The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. 39 And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, heard his cry and saw how he died, he said, "Surely this man was the Son of God!"
