2002-10-23 - The Dragnet of God

(Note to those too young to remember (or unfamiliar with) the American television show: "Dragnet" was a highly-respected police show in the 1960s and 1970s, starring Jack Webb.)

This is the DRAGNET of God in Christ Jesus.

This is the heart of Our Lord and God; this is my partner Holy Spirit, my name's Friday.

The Bible you read is the truth, and because no one is innocent, the names have not been changed to protect the innocent, so that you may know the truth.

In the first century AD, during the ministry of Jesus Christ the Messiah, Jesus taught people that "All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God."

He taught that "the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

He taught people that "unless a man is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."

He taught that He is "the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him."

At the close of Jesus' ministry, He was falsely accused and put to death because of the lies of the Pharisees and religious leaders. "God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son Jesus, who took upon himself the sins of the world, and was buried in a rich mans tomb."

On the third day, after Jesus was buried, He was miraculously resurrected from the dead and rose victoriously, showing that He has power over sin, death, the grave and hell. He provides the way, that all who believe in Him may have eternal life in Heaven with God and abundant life beginning today.

All people, including you and me, are condemned to die because of sin. Jesus stands at the door of your heart and knocks, and He is waiting for you to let Him come in.

Are you willing to surrender your life, and are you ready to invite Jesus into your heart and into your life? If so pray this prayer in your heart:

Heavenly Father, I have sinned against You. I want forgiveness for my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me and rose again. Father, I give you my life, to do with as you wish. I want Jesus Christ to come into my life and into my heart. I ask this in Jesus' name Amen.

If you believe that Jesus died for your sins, and you prayed that prayer from your heart, the angels are rejoicing in Heaven because you have accepted Jesus. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for salvation and a new life have come to you today.

You should find a local Bible-believing Church and attend regularly, get a Bible and read it daily, fellowship with other believers in food, study, and the breaking of bread in remembrance of the finished work of Jesus Christ that has saved you.

Jesus, through the authority given to Him, told us to make disciples of all people by baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

All sinners who reject Jesus have already been condemned to death eternally in Hell. Share Jesus with your friends today. Tell everyone you meet.
