It's the beginning of a new year, and many of us are making "resolutions."
Today we will look at some passages that relate to resolutions, goals or
plans.
Proverbs 16:3 (NASB) Commit your works to the LORD and
your plans will be established.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NASB) "For I know the plans that I have
for you," declares the LORD, "plans for welfare and not for calamity, to
give you a future and a hope."
Proverbs 15:21-22 (NASB) Folly is joy to him who lacks
sense, but a man of understanding walks straight. Without consultation, plans
are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed.
Luke 14:28-29 (NASB) For which one of you, when he wants
to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if
he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and
is not able to finish, all who observe it begin to ridicule him.
Philippians 3:13-15 (NASB) Brethren, I count not myself
to have apprehended. But this one thing I do: Forgetting those things which
are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press
toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded, and if in any thing
ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
Ecclesiastes 9:10 (NASB) Whatever your hand finds to
do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity or planning or knowledge
or wisdom in Sheol where you are going.
