2000-07-09 - PrejudiceGod gifts us with such diversity in His world -- diversity of types of wildlife, colors of skin, of the abilities He gives His children, of sizes and shapes and more. But sometimes we take this beautiful gift and turn it into a dividing wall of prejudice between people. It must sadden the heart of our Heavenly Father, to see us look down on our brothers and sisters simply because of their race, sex, financial status, mental abilities, physical handicap, age, weight or for any reason. God sees our "insides." and it is His desire that we look at the "real" person, too. Today we will see some passages that apply to prejudice.
1 Sam. 16:7 But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." (NIV)
