Devotional - 99-05-01 - Salvation Offered to
All
Part III
We should thank God that He has allowed us the privilege and responsibility
of missionary outreach. The greatest value we can obtain from the money the
Lord entrusts to our stewardship comes from our investments in missionary
work. According to the Great Commission all nations are to be given the story
of salvation through Christ up to the very end of the age, which ends with
His glorious return to end the Tribulation and assume His millennial reign.
God loves all individuals, He desires to draw all near to His heart.
God has revealed through His word, that He would bless all nations through
Isaac, Abraham's seed, and His literal descendants. Israel is to be a channel
of blessing to all nations. It is my firm conviction that when Israel returns
to Christ, the consequences will be the evangelisation of all people. Countless
numbers of people will be brought to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Israel is the main "character" if you will. She is central to all events
that are to come. It is our responsibility to dispense the truth of Gods
word to the Jewish people.Through such a ministry many of them will accept
their Messiah. The result being, that when this happens, those of other nations
will accept Christ. God has repeatedly said He will bless all nations through
Abraham and His seed
Genesis 12:1-3 Now Jehovah said unto Abram, Get thee out
of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto the
land that I will show thee: and I will make of thee a great nation, and I
will bless thee, and make they name great; and be thou a blessing; and I
will bless them that bless thee, and him that curseth thee will I curse:
and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
Genesis 22:15-18 And the angel of Jehovah called unto
Abraham a second time out of heaven, and said, By myself have I sworn, saith
Jehovah, because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son,
thine only son, that in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I
will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which
is upon the seashore. And thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.
And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed. Because thou
hast obeyed my voice.
Acts 3:25 Ye are the sons of the prophets, and of the
covenant which God made with your fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy
seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
Romans Chapters 9-11 God overruled the Jews rejection of Christ by sending
the message of reconciliation to all the world, thus turning Israel's tragic
sin into a blessing for all the nations. Paul states that there will be even
a greater blessing to all the nations when Israel comes back to Him. The
condition of the work at that time will be as one in the grip of death. When
Israel returns to God it will be as one raised from death to life. This event
is the hope and expectation of a world groaning under the curse of sin.
Romans 11: 11-15 say then, Did they stumble that
they might fall? God forbid: but by their fall salvation is come unto the
Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy. Now if their fall, is the riches of
the world, and their loss the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their
fulness? But I speak to you that are Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle
of Gentiles, I glorify my ministry; if by any means I may provoke to jealousy
them that are my flesh, and may save some of them. For if the casting away
of them is the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them
be, but life from the dead?
The lifting of the curse and the blessing of all men are contingent upon
Israel's conversion.
Romans 11:25-27 For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant
of this mystery, lest ye be wise in your own conceits, that a hardening in
part hath befallen Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in;
and so all Israel shall be saved: even as it is written, There shall come
out of Zion the Deliverer; He shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: And
this is my covenant unto them, When I shall take away their sins.
