She Ain't!
The Virtuous Woman Series, Part 6
Proverbs 31:15 - "She riseth also while it is yet night,
and giveth meat to her household and a portion to her maidens."
::YAWN:: I am not a morning person! Just thinking about waking
up early makes me sleepy. Of course, it might help if I went to bed
earlier at night, but I still can't promise my best face forward.
But this woman! She gets out of bed early to feed her family! And it's not
cereal and milk, she is cooking food for them. And not just her family, she
makes sure that her hired help is fed, too.
Why?
Because in the scheme of things, from first to last, she has her priorities
straight. God, family, others, self.
In getting out of bed before dawn, she is putting her own comfort last, her
family comes first.
Maybe the rich smell of coffee brewing unglues her eyeballs.
Maybe humming "I Love You Lord" starts her voice box.
But, one thing is for sure, the aroma of food cooking is what brings her
family pattering to the table to face the day. She knows that their physical
strength comes from the foods that she prepares for them, and their Spiritual
Strength comes from God above.
Good Morning.
"Dear Lord, you said in Proverbs that the man who turns over in his bed
will suffer lack. Father, I admit to being lazy sometimes. Lord, there are
so many times when I just do not want to get up. There are times when I do,
but rarely to cook breakfast. Father, I confess that I have put my needs
and wants first. Please forgive me, Lord, help me to remember that You asked
us to esteem others better than ourselves. Father, help me to remember that
bacon, eggs and grits are better than Crunchy-Sugar-Ohs. Help me to be a
good Mom, help me to raise my kids to be Godly and God-like. Thank You that
You are quick with Your Mercy, and quick to help us learn. I love You, Lord."
Amen
