[Calvary Chapel] 2020-07-09 - When He is Strong

Part 2

- - - - - - -

Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord.

Romans 13:10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Footnotes: Romans 13:10 Lit works no evil

How hard is it to not be angry with someone who has clearly wronged you? If it affects you and perhaps your family it can be very difficult. Jesus who had done no wrong was called guilty by the crowd as Pilot tried to free the Lord after finding no reason to convict Jesus. The trial where Jesus was convicted by the Jewish leadership in a trial that was wrong in several ways. And then turned over to the Romans to be crucified. Isaiah 53 describes The Suffering Servant 400 years before it happened. Many reading this text at that time were confused.

Jesus on the cross asked the Father to "Forgive them for they know not what they do." He had been whipped, beaten, forced for some time to carry His cross until He could not. Through all of this and more and Jesus did not rail against them who treated Him with such cruelty.

Those of us who have given our lives to Jesus as our Savior and Lord we are suppose to follow and live for Him. Being able to gently answer the questions of someone asking questions trying to get answers to painful questions is not always easy. But it can give hope to that suffering someone. It can give them courage to ask about where our hope comes from.

"When we are weak, He is strong."(2 Corinthians 13:9) It is not because we are good. Jesus paid for our failures on the cross so that we could be freed and live to praise and serve Him. Then there are times when people are brought across out path for just such a moment. Be willing to be the first step toward knowing hope and that someone cared enough to talk with them, and that Jesus is a real person who who loves them and suffered to make a way for them to have eternal life in Heaven.

Lord Jesus, We can only thank You for saving us man making us Your Children. As we grow in knowing more of You we will have something to share with others who might come and ask us for answers that the urgently are searching to find. Help us be a light in a dark place for someone as we grow more and more to know You better. Amen.

Grace & Peace,
