2020-04-20 - A Nature Scene
It's a very windy day. The leaves are swirling around the grass like an orchestrated ballet. My cat is enthralled by this display of nature and happily waits by the window, for more leaves to dance. I said a silent prayer that the wind would not stop. I asked God, the creator of the leaves and weather, to keep the dance coming but now the leaves are lifeless and dormant on the ground.
I wonder why my cat has to wait for her enjoyment. She doesn't seem to mind, though. She waits patiently, and when her fun doesn't come, finds something else to do. This feline doesn't get upset or blame God that the wind died down. She just goes on with her day.
I want to find be content like that, instead of blaming God the joy didn't last longer, or the wait time was too long. One way to keep my flesh from taking control is asking the Lord for help. His track record is better than mine. His works are great, and His thoughts profound. May the Lord make us glad by His deeds. May we sing for joy at what God's hands have done. (see Psalm 92:4-5)
Lord, Help me stay patient, especially in times when I don't see Your power moving. Help me trust that You are in control. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.
