[CF Devotionals] 2020-03-02 - Fear-Free Living

- - - - - -

Jesus tells us not to be afraid or be troubled. When I look at my circumstances and focus on my emotions, I easily feel the way Jesus tells me not to feel.

When I start to get overwhelmed, I can take Jesus' advice. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid. (John 14:27 NIV) We are not ruled by every thought that enters our mind. We have the power to have thoughts under the obedience of Jesus. (See 2 Corinthians 10:5)

Eventually, my mind believes God is right, that living fear-free is the better, healthier option. There are plenty of reasons to be troubled and many things to fear, but when we set our minds on something positive, aligned with God's truth, we find peace.

Lord, Please don't let my emotions rationalize away Your promise and ability to care for me. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
