[CF Devotionals] 2020-01-29 - Wonderful Little Surprises

- - - - - -

While working on a word for the ‘wannabe scrabble game’ on the Facebook App I had a pleasant discovery. Such an event is quite rare, as I often have several good turns in a row then followed by several more with abysmal letters. In a recent turn, I traded two of the letter ‘L’ and three ‘I’s”, yes, from the same ‘tray.’ And that was not the worst of the turn. Later, in a different game, I was sure I had to choose between two possible words and discovered I was able to use the word on my ‘tray’ and make the other word already partially down, too, nearly tripling my score. It was a rare opportunity, and I was somehow stunned. In many scenarios, as our kids grew up, or with the various fur babies in our family, I got used to choosing one thing or another and not expecting both. Of course, in those family situations, the needs of the members superseded anything not required now. My husband’s mother used to say, “you wants won’t hurt you.” So very true. But there are times we can have both things; the needed and the extra bit. In the right timing, we can be rewarded for being prudent with what has been provided to us. They can even feel like wonderful little surprises, too. Enjoy! And thank the Father for his blessings. 🙂

“Much is required from those to whom much is given, for their responsibility is greater.” Luke 12:48b TLB)

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:17 NIV)

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13 NIV)
