2018-12-26 - Grateful
Spoken gratitude means so very much to me, and at times, it eludes me that the same is true of God. This is the time of year for more articulation and gifts shared to represent gratitude. With that in mind, a thoughtful and specific mention in spoken words, of why I am thankful for those with whom I am closest, is very much on my mind. Particularly my children, while young adults now, find affirmation and encouragement a big parts of how they receive love. So, while as young children, they were more infatuated by paper and bows or musical toys, now I can relax in the receiving of practical gifts, and words meaningful and from my heart. And some delicious holiday treats I so enjoy making will hit the spot, too. ☺ I am grateful for the opportunity to speak words of gratitude to those dear to me. Also, for little things every day, and telling my Father in heaven how much they mean to me, and how much He means to me. Like learning today that one of the dogs I had been viewing on the website at the local SPCA now has a forever home. Angel is fourteen, and had been waiting for about a month since arriving at the facility. I was so thankful to praise God for this. Also, last night, I learned water was leaking from one of the sink basins in the kitchen. On the up side, we are still able to use the other side, until it can be repaired. What a blessing to learn of what was going on before it was much worse, and that God’s graciousness leaves me only a slight temporary adjustment.
He loves to hear from us, no matter how insignificant things may seem. He showers us in small and large ways, and acknowledgement brings us even closer to Him. With the celebration of the King just around the corner, how are you showing God gratitude?
“I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;
