2018-03-05 - God's Love
Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden and there he put the man he had formed. Genesis 2:8
The garden of Eden was a visual representation of God's love. As first inhabitant of the garden, Adam had complete access to God and vice versa. The creator and creation had constant communication and companionship with each other. When Adam called, God answered. No waiting, busy signal, or voice mail. The two were so close, Adam grew to recognize God by the sound of His footsteps. (Genesis 3:8-10)
The garden's bountiful trees were pleasing to the senses. One tree, the tree of knowledge of good and evil was not for nourishment and was off limits. God was the planter, the designer of the garden and wanted to share His spectacular nature with His beloved Adam and have man tend to the garden. All that changed, when Adam and wife Eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Adam and Eve were banned form their home, and the sweetness of the garden was destroyed.
We can experience that same sweetness as Adam did. The same God wants to meet us in a sacred place, where there is two-way communication between the creator and His beloved, us. The place can be one of discovery-learning more about God and His love.
Lord, Thank You that we are Your prized creation! May we tend our relationship well. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.
