Sadly, I can relate to Proverbs 18:13. It says: "He who answers before listening --- that is his folly and his shame. Two questions I'm asking the Lord lately are, "How can I stop interrupting my husband?" And, "Is there a reason I won't let him finish sentences?"
It is not out of spite, nor is it a compulsion. I want to stop, I really do. I don't want to be the cause of my husband's discomfort or aggravation. I have to train my mouth to wait and stop talking. Most of the time, it is my impatience that gets in the way, or I am too excited about contributing to the conversation.
I don't want to be someone who answers before listening. So I am making a conscious effort to let my husband finish his thoughts. So far, so good, today that is.
Lord, I have a habit that is out of control. Help me draw on Your strength to receive the victory. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
