2018-01-06 - Searching for Jesus
Matthew 2:1-2 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him."
As the twelve days of Christmas come to a close, we remember the arrival of the Magi, celebrated by the church on Epiphany Day. These wise men came from the east to search for the newborn king of the Jews. These men were Gentiles traveling a long way from the east. They were following a bright, extraordinary star. These learned travelers were being led to Jesus, whom they diligently sought.
What are you searching for? What is drawing your attention? What does Jesus mean to you? Just like the Magi, we are drawn to Christ. We are called by His word and deeds, and can read of what He did and said in His Holy Word, the Bible. Today, Jesus calls us to follow Him. Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die." (John 11:25)
Are you still being drawn to Jesus?
