[PC-USA] 2017-09-30 - Prayer

- - - - - - -

Matthew 6:6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen.

Jesus was asked by His disciples for instructions on how to pray. How should prayer be made, where should it take place, and when should the prayer take place? Jesus told the disciples that prayer was simple. They didn't have to go to a priest or go to the synagogue to pray. Prayer didn't have to include an elaborate formula or system. Prayer was a personal conversation with God. Prayer was simple communication with our Heavenly Father.

Jesus' advice for His disciples still applies to us today. Prayer is a way for us to talk to God. We can do it any time and any place. We can pray at home, work, or play. Kneeling to pray is good, but we can pray in any position. We can talk with God day or night. Perhaps the important thing to do is to just do it. Take the time to talk with God. Have you prayed today?
