2017-05-20 - Telling the Good News
Luke 8:39 So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.
In Luke 8:26-39 we find the story of a demon-possessed man who was healed by Jesus. This man was in such a state that he lived by himself in the caves. People were afraid to go near him. When Jesus travelled to the area, the violent man was miraculously healed by Jesus. His life had been changed forever. He could now live a normal life. The just-healed man begged that Jesus let him go along with Jesus and his disciples. Jesus, however, said, "Return home, and tell how much God has done for you." (Luke 8:39) The man did as Jesus instructed.
How do we react to the Good News of Jesus today? When we are healed from our sins by accepting Jesus' sacrifice, what do we do? Not all of us are preachers or evangelists. But in our own lives and environments, we are to do like the man who was healed by Jesus. We are to tell our story to those around us, putting the Good News in our own words. We are to simply tell others what Jesus has done for us, and what he means to us. With whom can you share in the next week?
